My son is barely pooping and he’s becoming fussy what can I give him? He poops maybe once or twice a week but it’s been a few days now and he looks very irritated I am breastfeeding for anyone wondering

Could it be something in your diet?
For example I found that brocolli and onions made my daughter gassy and fussy.
Try bicycling his legs a little. It may help

I was with my grandmother in the hospital for about a week and I ate fast food the whole time. I’m thinking that’s what it is because at home I eat a pretty clean diet. I’m just now getting back into routine but I will try that the bath did soothe him a bit

If going back into routine doesn't help. I'd suggest a food journal plus adding everytime he's fussy and seems constipated.
See if you can find a pattern.
Process of elimination basically.
But as poster said above it is common for babies to go like a week without pooping.

I was told not to do anything unless his poops were hard and small

When I was breastfeeding, my son did the same thing and I was told it’s normal for breastfed babies to go a week or so without pooping once they hit somewhere between 2-6 weeks old. And as long as he was gaining weight well then it was normal.

@ajaecymone184, That’s a good idea. Also, look into your diet. Maybe there’s something you’re eating that’s not agreeing with him. I found out early on that cucumbers made my son hurt. I had to write down everything I ate and eventually found the culprit.

@mommaofjais, I never knew my diet could affect him! Thanks for this

You’re welcome! Hopefully little man gets some relief soon!
