This is so sad. When I took my boys to the hospital on Tuesday the doctor said that she could prescribe my oldest tamiflu but didn't recommend it. Being that it doesn't really help cure the flu just shortens the time of having it. And because it has a lot of bad side effects. Like hallucinations, seizures etc. She said that babies should take it 6 months and under but not older children.
the worst part of this was that the woman asked for natural remedies to help her sick child. And people gave random household things, not Tylenol or Motrin (actual fever reducers and pain relievers). I’m a firm believer in not medicating unless necessary but you better fucking believe if my kids fever is high enough to cause seizures and he’s visibly uncomfortable I’m going to give him some Motrin. Like damn, this stuff was created to help. Nothing is perfect, there are side effects to everything. Would you rather have a baby who had a mild side effect (the most common) or a dead baby?
If she would’ve given him Motrin, pedialyte, and even lukewarm baths instead of thyme, elderberry (elderberry is an immune booster but doesn’t help current symptoms), peppermint oil, lavender...... he might still be here. MEDICATIONS ARE NOT YOUR ENEMY IF USED CORRECTLY AND SMARTLY PEOPLE
I give my children motrin and its never let me down. I don't see a dr for a flu because most the time motrin and rest does the trick. I'd use Tamiflu too and if their was a side effect I'd probably stop but I'd give it a shot. It's only been dr to hubs once and I don't remember if he even tried it.
The doctors told us there’s no proof that stuff even works it just makes you puke every kid is different and some ppls immune system just can’t handle sickness that has nothin to do with it that’s ridiculous ... they told us to get it and I refused he was sick five days and wasn’t puking ppl get sucked into getting flu shots and thinks that also does good when it dont it makes shit worse 🤷🏼♀️ no two kids are the same my other two didn’t get it and neither did I and I was cleaning up after him and kissing him .. plus for all you know there insurance wouldn’t pay for it ours wouldn’t it was 364$ so they try to make it look like she’s this and that but what they don’t tell you is the shit they put in the vaccines 💉 and they want ppl to take there shit for money it’s all about pharmaceutical companies 💯
So I’ve seen you talk a lot about tamiflu and the cost. Did you ever consider generic or using good rx? You can get the pills for like $20. Why did your doc prescribe them if they said all it would do is make people puke with no proof of benefits?
@ltee, they said it’s my choice if i wanted them or not so I didn’t get them 🤷🏼♀️ he wasn’t even puking so why get it no reason to waste money plus I didn’t even have 20$ 😂
@kush_queen420, in the future maybe if you encounter a similar situation definitely check out good rx or similar options. I have used it instead of insurance in some instances as it was cheaper. My understanding of tamiflu is that it inhibits the virus from replicating thus reducing the length and possibly severity of the flu. It wouldn’t be a cure for flu but it may prevent the virus from infecting more people by even shaving off a day or two. But like you said everyone handles sickness differently and everyone handles medication differently too. It did make me vomit initially but I do believe by taking it at the very first signs this year may have helped me avoid a worse scenario
This makes me so mad. You (the parent) are suppose to protect your children. It’s so frustrating that so many people think that it’s okay to act so nonchalant about the care of their children. That poor baby. His mother let him down.

I can’t even read this shit because it pisses me tf off . Medications HELP, it’s okay to use medicine to help ur child ! Fk everyone’s opinions !!!! Ur the mom, do what you know is best for your freaking kid ! these stupid anti vax groups on Facebook or the moms in the mom groups that are anti vax should seriously SHUT THE HELL UP! Wish this mom didn’t listen to these POSs.
