Formula question for fussy newborn. My 1 month old is on gentlease the last two weeks in the early mornings and around bedtime she’s been using major crying fits where she is sweating and getting clamy and won’t stop crying for sometimes over an hour no matter what I do almost like she’s in pain. She isn’t constipated, she is passing gas fine. I’m at a loss on what to do I haven’t dealt with formula in almost 8 years. Would you recommend changing formulas?

If she’s already on enfamil I’d look into nutrimagen. It’s their hypoallergenic version like alimentum

You can also look into gerber goodstart they have a gentle formula that’s easier to break down and soothe which has enzymes designed to break down gas. When Parker had colic it was the only formula that helped

Nooo...I’m sure it’ll be fine! Hang in there! 💪🏻 I’ll think happy thoughts for you that it isn’t one! 😊🥛 It could also be reflux...when Charlotte was little, I had her on Zantac and it helped tremendously! Just a thought if nothing else works!

Me too! I would probably cry if she has a diary allergy because Lorenzo is almost grown out of his allergy I couldn’t imagine starting over again. But that definitely would be my luck!

Could she have a dairy allergy? Was it you from our May 2017 group that had another child with a dairy allergy?

Yes my two year old has a allergy. I don’t think she does she isn’t showing any signs besides being extremely fussy, my oldest who

Is 7 has to be on alimentum because he had a dairy sensitivity but was fine with dairy to eat at 6 months and switched to whole milk at 1

And yes I’m in the May group 😍 I just went and bought alimentum and hoping that helps 🤞🏻 she doesn’t have any mucus in her stool or blood or hives on her body and not throwing up like a dairy allergy would do to a baby

Gripe water! I have no experience with formula so ask your pediatrician but in the mean time give her gripe water. Sometimes at nighttime around that age babies just cry and cry and we don’t know why. Make sure she’s not too warm and make sure she’s had enough to eat, if she’s not always fussy it might not be the formula. I think some babies are over or under stimulated and at night they just go wild. Called witching hour, look it up, it’s hard but it’ll pass! Call the dr to double check formula is all good for her though.

I swear by Enfamil reguline. Look up the reviews.

Isn’t that one only for babies who are having trouble pooping?

Ok great! And my son had the same issue and they recommended similac sensitive and that resolved the problem. Try giving her warm baths to sooth her if not a warm cloth on her belly.

You should change her formula and also give her Gripe water.

What formula would you recommend? Also I’ve started gripe water as of yesterday and I don’t see much difference I gave it to her and it took her almost a hour after her dose to calm down and fall asleep. 😫

@mommakaylax3 I would talk to her pediatrician and see what formula is best for her. And what brand of gripe water are you giving her? Mamasbliss is the best

Gabbys bellybutton is starting to bleed. What should I do? Is this serious? She’s not in pain. Doesn’t cry when I wipe it.

2
madhatter I would call pedi just to be safe. Is it hot to touch at all?
gummybear728 Called the pedi. She said as long and it’s not bleeding a lot that it will stop
Try to avoid using alcohol. Dries the skin out and can prevent quick healing. Wash with soap

My baby is almost two weeks old. She’s drinking 2oz of formula and she finishes the bottles. But her grandma over feed her and sometimes gives her two bottle of formula. Usually how much can she drink since she’s still two little..?

So I'm having some late pregnancy worries... What if cant comfort her? What if I don't know why shes crying? Like say we're out and shes screaming and I just don't know what she wants!! That thought scares the shit out of me!

miicat @trevise I'm pretty upset, so thank you for understanding it means a lot *hug* ❤
trevise Oh God ! Well this turned out bad 👀
barnold @miicat, how can you disagree with 'who cares as long as the baby is fed'???
