Hi moms. It's been a minute. I'm back because I need some mom advice. Anyone deal with an employer that does not care that you gave birth and returned after 8 weeks? My son is 5 months now and he has been getting sick due to the weather and being in center day care. I have to leave often to deal with that. Any advice about dealing with an employer who says they can not work from home often or is not going to make exceptions though you're the only one in the office with a baby, is much appreciated!!!!
What does your employment contract say? If it’s not something written in there, then it’s pretty much tough luck. Maybe try and negotiate for more sick or vacation days at your next review? Unfortunately that’s what most people have to use when their kids are sick - their own vacation and sick days.
Your job description is what it is. It’s your job to make sure daycare and childcare is taken care of - even with sick kids...if it’s starting to directly affect the way you work or work in general, then you need to find someone who is available to you for your kids or adjust your availability.
Returning to work after 8 weeks, was that a decision based on you or your job because of maternity leave?
Your job is already being lenient about the fact that you have a kid because they’re allowing you to do these things for him but seeing as it’s a reoccurring issue, it’s now becoming a problem within your job. They need someone who’s reliable and right now, you can’t because baby is constantly sick. Your employer simply needs someone more consistent, try to find some help so it stops interfering with work at much . Good luck mama.
Find another job that offers more flexibility. An employer doesn't have to comply with your life unfortunately. If it isn't in your work description to be able to work from home they don't have to let you.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...

A Statement from Mom.Life:
Hey everyone!
Last night, a new user began messaging our moms asking for private pictures of toddlers and young children. This is obviously unacceptable behavior, and the account was banned immediately. Although thankfully extremely rare on Mom.Life, several users were understandably upset by this, so we wanted to clarify a few things:
First off, Mom.Life has an absolute zero tolerance policy for child abuse and those who would prey on children. We strive to ...
