I'm considering baby no2.
I know I've said this before. But I had really bad depression with my first, mainly because OH didn't lift a finger. I went back to work after 6 months but quit after another 6 months due to bullying and the workload. I'm now I'm an amazing workplace but only on a temp contracts I'll find out probably Feb/march.
I'd love my LO to have someone for company as hes so social, but I keep thinking I dont want to risk losing this job as I dont think I'd be able to go back to work if I have 2, as I cant afford 2 nursery places. I worry about things like 2 waking in the night crying - as this is a BIG cause of arguments already, lack of sleep etc I worry that itll be juggling it all, already the idea of holidays stress me out rather than cheer me up and I cant imagine it's any easier with 2

Not everything is easier with 2 but prematurity aside I found my second much easier. We have a two year age gap and managed to get our first sleeping through the night, now he settles himself after story time so I can concentrate on bedtime with baby.
I was the same dreading waking with a newborn again and having to deal with a toddler but it wasn’t as bad as I imagined. We are going away in April and again in September, I can’t wait my eldest is understanding if I’m feeding or to be quiet (ish) is baby sleeping, he grabs nappies or cream and is generally gentle and nice with her. I have taken the kids to visit my sister by myself which is a 4 hour drive and it doesn’t phase me we just go and she has no babies yet so I have to take EVERYTHING! Xx

Sound similar to myself. Terrible depression with my first son, stayed on my anti depressants during my 2nd pregnancy with my doctors consent, no issues whatsoever with it coming back so far.
I knew with having the 2nd, I wouldn’t be able to go back to work for 4 years and made the decision that I would have to just live on the bare minimum with benefits, but I was okay with this as I really wanted another to complete my family and also for my son to grow up with a closer aged sibling. I set up my own business from home to make ends meet and it’s ended up becoming a full time income which worked out perfect with the 2 kids.
Arguments in the night also the same! We argue like cat and dog in the night but once you find that routine again, it smoothens itself out.
Pros definitely outweigh the cons with a second, seeing them together all cuddled up, having another mini version of your bigger child it’s just lovely to get to do it all again! The stress is twice as bad but twice as rewarding.
Maybe wait until you know what’s going on with your work for peace of mind? ☺️

Thanks for the reply. I will defo wait to hear about work and I keep telling myself its just work and I've got my whole life to work and I won't have my whole life to have children. It's a bit stressful as OH will be 40 this year and thinks it's now or never which I understand also I think even of had an unplanned pregnancy on his 4ps he'd still be happy once they were here.
I think also I need to pass my driving test so I've got more independence and convenience x
