I used to ride my bike to/from school in 3rd grade and walk to/from school in 4th grade! I know times are different now, but you’re the parent, it’s up to you if you want to let your child walk across the street. People need to stop wasting the police’s time and let them catch real criminals.

I personally don’t see anything wrong with letting a 12 yo walk to a nearby store alone 🤷🏻‍♀️

Can you see the store?? Personally I wouldn’t it’s not that I don’t trust my kid it’s all the other people you have to worry about. What’s the legal age there for kids to stay home alone

That a concern person was worried for his safety. I would understand her worry if we live far away but we are 40 sec from the gas Tati on I timed it today. It not like he walked miles miles away I know different but he was in no danger I just find it funny that he can walk home from school which is 15-20 minutes away but some old Karen going to throw a fit of a less the. A min walk home

@milnera2014, yeah I mean things happen and they happen in broad daylight too but like...sounds like it was ridiculously close anyway lol I wouldn’t worry about it especially since he walks to school. Walking to school is common.

@myausome.life, that’s how I am. Kids get taken (I’ll never forget growing up a girl was taken by the ice cream man in front of her house) so you just have to be careful

Life is so much different now. I used to walk to the store when I was 6. Right across the street from our apt building.
What did the police have to say?
