My left hand has been hurting for a week. My fingers feel like they’ve been slammed on a car door, it feels numb and in pain at the same time. I asked my midwife why I feel like this and she said that sometimes pregnancy gives you carpal tunnel.
What?? Has this happened to anyone? Any remedies? Will it go away after I give birth?

Ive had this issue twice with my two boys for me it starts at 19/20 weeks and my hands are numb and feel like they are on fire until after they are born then it took or takes a couple weeks to calm down after swelling goes down.

Ugh it’s so awful! Sometimes I feel okay and then it flares up again. Are there any remedies? Or am I just supposed to wait til I give birth? I didn’t know this was common! I didn’t have this with my first.

one time my doctor gave me wrist splints for at night they kinda helped but suck if you have to pee alot . Sometimes I look like i am beating my hands up to get the circulation to come back . The way I see it I am at the half way mark 20 weeks 0 days I have about 17 to 18 weeks left I am on the count down to when I get to meet my bundles of joy and my hands will go back to normal. Lol its all worth it but this is also my last Pregnancy as I will have 4 and I finally have my baby girl 3 boys one girl Im happy as a clam .

@sarasmilesatyou. The funny thing is the cna are always the ones who cannot find my veins at that time the anesthesiologist gets the IV in each time . and If you get the spinal drip or medication that numbs from half your bpdy down it feels weird if they hit a nerve it feels like they poke your butt cheek even though they dont touch it .

@sarasmilesatyou. The real weird thing is its a painful tickle if that makes sense . Like someone finds that pressure point but it hurts but its like a tickle you dont like I dont know how to explain but its an irritating tickle but you cant move to them finally breaking through the spinal area to release the medication its like a huge punch in a pinch then your legs are go to like dead weight after being in a pool . My legs or half the body feels like if you sit cross legged and your legs go numb feeling.

Mine didn’t go away, because I actually had it before I was pregnant, and pregnancy worsened mine. But I had surgery in October. And it’s much better. It will pass mamma, just be thankful it isn’t permanent, I understand your pain.

I had it & it did go away. It was annoying b/c my hand would literally freeze up.
