Moms what is your favorite Disney world resort to stay at with your kids and why? We’ve done lots of research and have stayed at a few of them, but we’re still having a hard time deciding where to stay for one of our future trips.

I’m from Orlando and now live about an hour away...our favorite is the Hilton at Bonnet Creek! It’s not “technically” Disney owned, but it’s on Disney property and has most of the same perks. That and the Waldorf Astoria next to it are on a piece of Disney property that the owner held out on selling to Disney so Disney doesn’t advertise them—they’re so much nicer and a bit less expensive than the average Disney family hotel. More bang for your buck, for sure! My husband loves them, and he’s a super picky 5 star resort kind of guy. My husband and I do the Waldorf for date nights but the Hilton for family Disney trips with the kids...the pool area is fantastic! The Beach and Yacht club is our favorite family Disney resort actually owned by Disney, but it’s super expensive so we typically only do it when my husband has medical conferences. The Grand Floridian is great, too, but also super pricey. Good luck!

We have only stayed on Disney property in the past. Does the Hilton have transportation to and from the parks, and if so, about how long does it take to get to the parks? We are planning a short trip before Christmas, so we want to be close by to maximize our time because we know it will be super busy. We were looking into the Polynesian, but not sure we want to drop $800+ per night for the little amount of time we’ll spend in our room with 2 little kids that won’t notice the difference between a deluxe and a moderate lol. Thanks for your help! 😊

It is on Disney property just not Disney-owned and it does have its own transportation to Disney :) I can’t remember the amount of time it took to get to the parks, but it wasn’t long (no more than the other hotels), I remember the last time we did it, they actually used nice charter buses instead of the regular Disney buses which was great! We stayed at the Polynesian recently and were not super impressed—it was decent, but if you’re going to spend that much, definitely do Beach and Yacht Club or Grand Floridian (also on the monorail) instead!

The Polynesian has a very 70s motel vibe getting to the rooms...not worth the price IMO

The Hilton also has the same Extra Magic Hours as the Disney resort hotels 👍🏻

If you’re going around Christmastime, you may want to look into the after hours Christmas holiday party! That’s all we do now—they open up for special hours after the park closes and you can ride almost everything with no lines. My husband and kids are allergic to crowds, long lines, waiting, and the heat, so we do the after hours parties a few times each year instead of annual passes and they’re great! The Christmas one has all you can eat sugar cookies and hot chocolate, fake “snow,” a special holiday parade, and fireworks. Worth the splurge if you want to experience Magic Kingdom without the holiday crowds!

That’s our plan. 😊 We’ve never gone at Christmas time so we’re very excited.
