I have serious Trypanophobia(needle phobia) and got the makena injection from 16 weeks to 36 weeks on 3 pregnancies. Before them, i had a baby born at 36, second baby at 34 weeks (both NICU babies) and with my 3rd i went into labor at 20 weeks, baby girl didnt made it. Pregnancy #4 they started me on makena shots and i was able to go the full 40 weeks, baby was born right on his due date. Then next pregnancy I also got the shot and baby was born at 39 weeks and last pregnancy I got them too and baby was actually over due...I had to be induced. I had to struggle getting into my doctors office weekly for the shots, and it never got easier...im just thankful that the nurse putting them knew how bad my needle phobia was and she was very kind and patient. But they were worth it...i was able to go full term thanks to those shots.
How far along are you? I had to get shots to stop labor and the steroids for baby. It worked out and contractions did stop but I got put on bed and pelvic rest for the rest of the pregnancy. Longest 10 weeks of my life.
