Does anyone else basically wash their dishes before putting them in the dishwasher? I definitely do this and always have!
My mother-in-law does not do this - she is terrible with dishes. We went over there for Christmas and she told me to grab a fork out of the drawer and there was still food all over most of her utensils 😫 I'm not talking about the crumbs that gather and the utensil holder (which I think is normal depending on where the drawer is) I'm talking about chunks of what was obviously corn and noodles on what she called her clean dishes 😫

I have a dishwasher I don’t even use it I wash up by hand.
I’d defo scrape the plates and rinse them off but I don’t see the point in washing them up and then putting them in a dish washer lol xx

I'm guilty of washing to the point they don't even need the dishwasher lol
I have to fight doing that, but my bare minimum is making sure things are rinsed / foods scraped off plates, utensils, etc
That's mega gross. 🤢

Ewww!!! Nooooo I literally wash them all clean and I either use the dishwasher as a drying rack or I use it for an extra clean after I wash it.

I use the dishwasher more as a sanitizer. I hand wash all my dishes first and the put them in the dishwasher. I run it almost every night and use the heat dry mode. My dishes are always squeaky clean.
I would bet your mil dishwasher is clogged from all the food on the dishes and now it's not cleaning properly

Right! That's totally my method too! Yashica stuff nasty ass dishes in there she always has been like that even when I was living under the same roof as her I always had my own dishes so that I knew what I was using was clean! My brother-in-law's came over the other day and said "your dishwasher smells so much better than moms" well duh I don't put chunks of food in there because that's not how a dishwasher works. If you are meant to put it in there with food on it it would have a built-in garbage disposal

I don’t have a dishwasher and don’t want one. We just remodeled our kitchen and the contractor thought I was nuts not wanting to install one. I like washing them lol it calms me down. I always felt like it used a ton of water 🤷🏻♀️

I don't even use my dishwasher. It's brand new, used maybe twice 🤣 sometimes it's used as a drying rack.

Yup. My dishwasher is an additional step to sanitize my already washed dishes

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't but I always make sure that everything is clean before it comes out and if it's not it gets washed again. I do whatever doesn't fit by hand.
