Help me with my first world problem please

Help me with my first world problem please

I got married this summer. I love frame pictures but since we moved I haven't gotten a chance to put them up on my walls. My mil and mother both got me personalized frames that have our wedding dates and last name stamped on it...I hate these kind of frames. I think they're SO tacky. Over the last few months I've avoided printing my wedding photos but I dread the day I hate to fill these ugly ass frames.

So what is my problem. My sister in law got me a big ass Mr and Mrs wedding frame for Christmas. I'm talking 24x36. Something I can't just tuck in a corner and avoid. She said I could exchange it if I don't like the color 😫...my husband says I should just return it but I don't want to offend her. She has these tacky frames all around her house. She loves the look. It's just not my style. I was thinking I could just hang it in the finished basement 😂.

So do I return it and not tell her, speak the truth and return it , or hang it in the basement???

I would probably hang it. If it’s one picture then I don’t see a huge deal, you don’t have to display it front & center. Or what I do is I pull out gifts when I know I will see that person. (Like outfits for the kids, I have swapped photos around on the wall, the coat I flipping hate from my mil but wear when she’s in town). What does it look like?

This is what I planned to do with the ones I got from my mil and mother.

I’d return it. Unless she’s a person that comes over all the time, she’ll forget.

I’d return it... I’m not going to hang something in my house I don’t like just to please someone who is hardly over. Just say it doesn’t match your decor so you got something more fitting. You appreciate the gift you were needing motivation to finally fill frames so exchanging it gave you the push. There is no need to be rude about it but if it’s not your style it’s just not and if she gets butthurt well that’s on her for buying something she likes for you not putting into consideration what you like

Good point. I think she comes to my house maybe twice a year 🤔

Return it and tell her you appreciated the gift but probably have no use for it. You want to avoid her getting you things like this in the future and just be like I’m sorry I really don’t mean to offend you

Yeah this. No big deal. She’ll understand. My brother and sister in law gifted me a bunch of frames that weren’t my style and I never used them. I like gallery walls but this is more my style.

🤣 I think stuff like that's tacky too. I insulted my husband's whole ass family the first time I said I don't like having a wall just filled with pictures in all different sizes and thought it was tacky....wasn't aware that they were into that stuff.

I'd just hang it in the basement. If you do return it will she get insulted?

I think she will. She seems sensitive. Plus she likes the stuff. It's all over her house

Hang it for a bit and then when you find something you like to take its place, it fell and you have to fix it (so she doesn't take or upon herself to replace it) Next time she comes something is in it's place! If she asks, her brother hasn't fixed hers

I would hang it in the bedroom or something. Is the Mr and Mrs attached? Like a separate piece you can take off? You could get crafty and redo the picture frame to your liking!

I wouldn’t personally return it. I’ve never been able to do that with a gift. I would go with basement or other spot out of constant view. Take your time getting around to it. Maybe in a while if you really cant stand it, it falls and breaks accidentally?

I mean you could return it if you really don't like it. I would honestly just hang it somewhere else, like a bedroom or office room

is it wrong to be frustrated that my daughter acts like she can't do certain things with out my help. she plays dumb a lot and I wish I could be like no girl show what you know. she acts like she can't trace or match shapes so shes ask for "mommy finger" to help her so I barely hold her hand and she magically can do it but if I dont hold her hand she just scribbles and acts like she doesnt know the pic is how she traces when I'm "helping her" otherwise it'll just be scribbles all over the page

Will your Mom be in the delivery room?

Will your Mom be in the delivery room? My mom made it sound like she was gonna be in the delivery room when I give birth, and quite frankly, I would just like it to be me and my fiancé. It's our first, and I want to share that special moment with just him. I don't want to hurt her feelings, and I know this is something she would really like to be a part of. So I feel bad telling her no.
