He definitely has some awareness of the potty like he'll tell me when he poops and stuff but still can't get him to go in the potty he'll just wait until I put his diaper back on. I mean he is still really young so it's fine if he's not ready. Just feels a bit frustrating since he does understand what poop is and tells me after he goes, also how much he hates diaper changes. Like too bad you can't explain you wouldn't have to do diaper changes if he went on the potty, that would be so much easier. :/

Stop trying. Give it another go in a month or two. All you're doing is stressing him and yourself out. It's part of parenting..have some patience with him.

It's still a new concept for him. Personally, I don't think he is fully ready. I have a child almost his age and while she recognises when she needs to poop and complains when she pees; she isn't ready. Even with older siblings. We've put her on the toilet a few times just to test it. She doesn't fully understand and it's okay. When she's two or a little after is when we will look at trying again.
Take a break. You're stressing / frustrating yourself. He will reach this milestone when he is ready. Some kids are ready before others and some aren't ready until 3+ years old.
