Need some advice from ladies with high BP experience..
I went to the eye doctor yesterday to get my eyes checked because I've been having horrible migraines with auras, and vision loss. Well they took my blood pressure yesterday and it said 180/90. I dont know anything about blood pressure and she didnt say anything about it . Well I got home and looked it up because I dont remember my blood pressure ever being that high. Well apparently that's horribly high especially while pregnant and I told my husband and he said dont worry about it I'm sure she took it wrong, you would know if your BP was that high.
Would i though ? Ladies with high blood pressure please help, what should I do ? I have my anatomy scan on dec 27th, should i just wait or go to a walmart or something with a blood pressure cuff and retest it ?

Retest. If still high...Call your OB, that could be a serious issue.

Okay I hope I can find a place with a BP cuff just incase it's not high. I would hate to waste the hospitals time

That is crazy high ,go to the urgent care and call your Dr, “normal stable blood pressure is 120/80

try to go take again at Walmart or a grocery store they have those blood pressure check machines keep your feet flat on the floor and try not to talk or move your body while taking it ,take it 2x even to double check “it’ll show you the levels of highness on the machine too so u can be aware

Anything over 140 “top number” and over 90, either one is too high.

I always know when mines high but some people don’t have symptoms. Stay out of store and bright lights that always raises mine

Hypertension is considered the “silent killer” because most people don’t feel symptoms. She probably didn’t seem concerned because she’s working at an eye doctors office. Call your ob and have them check it in office ASAP. The ones they have at CVS or supermarkets i have found to be terribly inaccurate

I wonder if just buying one would be better ? I would really hate to sit in a hospital for hours during flu season if it was wrong? I will get it checked one way or another tonight ! Thanks for the advice, hopefully my husband hurrys so we can figure this out. Our Little bean is most important!

I have a very accurate machine let me go see what brand it is iv had it professionally tested because I have lots of bp issues and take meds the cvs and Walgreens ones have always registered low for me when my bp was actually high

it’s Walmart brand I had went through a lot before I found this one and my dr tested it for me it was accurate with all his equipment and the others were not

@imback they didnt have that brand but I bought one similar, I got 142/81... lots better than 180/90, but still high. Most likely will be going into Labor and delivery
