Well I feel like a total failure. We were hoping by now we'd be able to buy christmas presents for the kids this year. Well here it is the 22nd and we can afford to get them anything... Hopefully next year will be better...
You can go to dollar tree!
Also family dollar. Most of the toys are from $5-$15 dollars and if you spend more than $25 you get $5 dollars off if you have the family dollar coupon app.
That’s where I went yesterday to buy their gifts and my nephew gift.
This ^ Family dollar has a sale going on right now for all toys, buy one get one 50% off!
Maybe check the dollar store for a gingerbread house or something super cheap but fun you guys could build together on Christmas. It’s about spending time together, not the gifts babe. If you can teach them that, they’ll never be disappointed to not receive a gift. My kids don’t care at all about gifts anymore. They care about their family being there. Obviously they’re a little bummed if they get nothing, but they don’t even shed a tear.. it’s a brief moment of disappointment that quickly turns to happiness because their family is here and they’re happy to see them. So you just gotta explain to them that those gifts don’t last forever and neither will your memory of them.. but you’ll always remember the good times you had with your favorite people ❤️
As a kid my father was lock up for a few years so my mother had to hold everything down. We were struggling but getting new & expensive things didnt matter to me & my brothers, the fact that my mother tried to make us happy for the holidays even though she didnt have much was enough for us & we appreciated it! Dont be hard on yourself, those babies are going to love you & appreciate you regardless on what you get them. I wish you & your family a Merry Christmas ♥️
Do you have like $10? You could go to Dollar Tree and get them a couple gifts to wrap!
@caffeinated.chaos, @lastgalalive, I was going to suggest this also since they are so little. You can easily get away with some toys from there and coloring books and crayons. There’s balls trucks everything.
They don’t have a sense of time. Keep the house decorated, “Christmas” will be on February 3rd of next year. 😉 Take pictures it’ll be so fun to explain when the kids are older.
Now I’m smiling. You ever look through older photos like “that’s the day Ronny fell off the dock. We had to get a net to reach him.” And everyone laughs? This will be cool to look back on lol
I would make a special breakfast, maybe get a few things from the dollar store, and just have fun. Maybe make cupcakes and let the kids frost them and make a big mess. They are so young, it'll be okay. Don't feel like a failure. Christmas hypes up all this stuff and puts a lot of pressure on everyone. We would all be so much happier if we stuck to spending time together and making good food.
When we were little, we never had much. My Mom would get some paper together and make us homemade coloring books. Look around the house for things your oldest hasn't seen in awhile and wrap it. Christmas isn't about the gifts, it's about the thought and time spent together. Sending you hugs.
Craft together, sing and dance, put on a play.. Sorry you feel like a failure. I personally feel like it’s part of being a mom. We can’t fix everything but we can love unconditionally. I hope you feel better.
Have you tryed toys for tots or somthing it might be to late I'm not sure but there really good at helping... and dont feel bad it happens there happy have a warm house and a place to sleep and food in there belly's ur not failing I get the feeling but you can only do what you can do hang in there
It's too late for toys for tots. We were going to but we thought we'd have our life together enough to get our own for them.
@lastgalalive awe I'm sorry maybe make cookies or somthing eoth them there still young enough its tbe time spent together that counts
@hakunamafuckitall that's true, and they're young enough that they wont know the difference.

Check out Pinterest and craft with them! You spell love- T-I-M-E, give them cuddles love and all of your attention that day. Make some cookies or a paper craft. Teach them about Christmas and that it’s not about presents, it’s about Jesus’s birthday and that joy we can have in our hearts because Jesus made a way so that we can have hope for the future and a place in Heaven. Read them Bible stories and blow their minds with truth and love!
