Any tips on how to get kids to go to the washroom in the toilet and not in their diaper. Every single time Avian goes as soon as you put his diaper back on. My mom says that happens because it's just habit going in their diaper.

Let them lead the way. Forcing it will backfire on you.

Look for signs of readiness and don't force it. This backfires big time. Ley him go at his own pace.

That was the tip. If he is repeatedly doing it then he is probably not ready. You can keep him naked from the waist down or do underwear instead and just keep taking him.

All you can do is try more frequently. It is very common for them to do this. It takes time and of he isn't ready then he won't do it at all. The potty can be scary for some kids or they simply aren't ready for potty training.

Well he does show some signs and interest. Knows the words. Points to his diaper. Etc.

All you can do is give it time. Be consistent. Daily set your time between bathroom runs with him. It takes lots of patience. If anything just help him get comfortable with the toilet and by two you can try fully introducing him to the toilet if he still isn't fully comprehending the purpose of the toilet

We stopped putting diapers or pull ups on at all. There were a few accidents but he was totally trained within 2 weeks. If we woulda stopped the diapers/pull ups sooner we woulda been done much sooner.

I know some say when they start trying to take their diaper off but I waited for my son to be constantly doing so and put a potty in the livingroom and let him roam naked, and i just kept asking when i saw that he was standing still or i guess contemplating on going. Also word party helped soooo much because he loves them and they have an episode about potty training. Hope this helps a little. Good luck mama
