Christmas isn’t about present. I do not remember what “Santa” or my parents got me for Christmas at 9 or 10. No toy made a lasting impression or memory. But I do remember making cookies, movie night on a mattress in the living room, driving around to see lights. Memories and experiences are what I remember to this day. You could make this the best year yet!
It’s ok. There are many other ways to celebrate and just enjoy the time together!! They are old enough so have them help make Christmas cookies and decorate them! Like above stated, if you have a dollar tree you can get cheap things and make crafts together and ornaments! And you can definitely find some cute things for a little stocking.
@loving_the_mommy_life, it’s hard it really is! I’ve struggled before in the past and I’m struggling this year really bad as well. Ive tried teaching my kids though it’s more about being together than the gifts. And they are pretty understanding! Now my older daughter on the other hand is expecting a wonderful birthday Friday and I have very few gifts 🤦🏻♀️😢😢

@loving_the_mommy_life, thanks. Life is a huge struggle and while it’s upsetting your kids will remember the fun and good times over what presents they didn’t get. My boys will talk about the time spent and how they are ok with not getting much for Christmas.
Spread cheer at least. Watch movies together, make memories some how with what you can. ❤️✨

@loving_the_mommy_life, yes! We did fruit snacks and I’m getting them cheese itz or something else we don’t do candy we leave that for the grandparents lol but even something is something
And I wrap everything in there stocking so they still get to open stuff lol and they can’t sneak a peak
