Well, that’s really a dynamics issue. Each house, family and marriage is different in how they operate. You can still be a team with just one working parent in the house as long as the working parent treats you right and doesn’t get all entitled.
Our dynamic is unique because we didn’t always live together yet we have been together 21 years so what we do is have three bank accounts. One for each of us and the house fund. I have my own money set aside so we contribute equally and I don’t have to answer to where my money is going because I contribute what is needed to the house. We talk once a week and determine if we need to put more money into the house fund. We also pay equally for vacations. That way I don’t feel stuck depending on that man for money and I still have a certain sense of independence yet he still pays my medical benefits. Stay at home moms can hustle too, it’s all about how you choose to do it.
I agree with @oggirl.mom, we are a team it’s our money, not his money.
