Would they induce you if your blood pressure was consistently high (130-140/90-100) but your preeclampsia work up was consistently negative?

I had high blood pressure half way through my pregnancy. But it really spiked after delivering I had it drop very low and then sky rocket to 205/92 meds weren't keeping it down when I was home ended back up in the hosptial for three days got put on magnesium to lower my blood pressure. And took alot of bp medications for up to a year now I'm down to one and it keeps it normal most of the time. I didn't have protein in the urine until after delivery. Ended up induced at 37 weeks due to my bp going in the 160s to many times. They were shocked I even made it that far to be honest.

I see high risk for gestational high blood pressure. I developed pre e with my first. They won’t induce unless I have a reading over 150/90 plus protein in my urine, swelling, headaches. They won’t just do it from high blood pressure readings for me. They told me anything 150/90 is acceptable because of me having gestational high blood pressure.

Ok so they’ll probably just keep doing the work up every week and watch out for protein

Ehhhh, it just depends. I know I was induced due to a random spike. I'd say they probably wont if your Bp( even tho- pre hype) is considered normal for you.

I was going to be induced on a Monday. My water broke Friday before. Mine was around 135/95 I believe most of time and it wouldn’t lower even on meds and once my girl started to fail NSTs they were ready to Induce. I never had preE

ask them your next appointment. Since it thins your blood you can have a lot of blood loss when you deliver.

Mine was pretty high off and on through my last pregnancy. They just really stayed on top of it and told me the signs to look out for. Unless you have a history of it, I don’t see it happening.

I was induced for high BP at 40+3. I don’t remember if they did bloodwork or not, maybe just checked my urine. No pre-e though.

harleyquinn13

checking your urine I’d usually testing for pre-e. They might induce you if it’s worrisome

@kellynicole, I know checking it constantly and being stress will make it spike take a shower and try to sit and relax I was told if I was checking at home only do it once in the morning and once a night and if needed once in the afternoon but not constantly
