Yes you can! I did both breastmilk and formula with my guy, separately and combined. I was in the same boat as you, never produced enough to satisfy him.
eventually yes! In the beginning when he was nursing more (still formula supplemented), He always had breastmilk poop. And would pop multiple times a day. Then when his appetite increased and my supply didn’t go up (long battle with that) he started having more formula and depending on the day, he would have a green formula poop. Sometimes mixed! And as he’s gotten older he poops once a day. He got gassy sometimes, so we’ve had him on Enfamil NeuroPro Gentlease, and has had no issues at all! 😊
