And so we r up at this terrible hour Lexi doesn't seem to want to sleep unless on daddy skin ... Even then it's small amounts of silence . Any advice . We r thinking about more awake time in the day instead of just feed, change and sleep .
Try swaddling it was the only thing that would help me get sleep because when niamh was swaddled even when she did wake up from her nap she was quiet and content to lay there at night when I had a sleep. Just make sure shes not hungry, have trapped wind or needs a change. That's all you can do with a baby that's 1 week. My baby screamed for 6 weeks before getting put on special milk for an allergy she had which nobody listened to. Now she wakes every 4-5 hours for a bottle every now and then I get a all nighter.
Sorry to burst any bubbles but day/night no longer exists with a newborn 😂 it is just a 24hour of sleep on and sleep of, this is something someone definitely should of warned you before baby got here lol sorry you have to find this out the hard way, just hang in there mumma and your all be fine! Thing that got me through it all is to just remember your not on the same time as the rest of the world so just sleep when they sleep wake when they wake and eat when you can lol ❤️
Yeah you cant do more awake time I'm afraid. She's far too young to be introducing that yet. You just need to sleep when she sleeps whether its night or day. Babies start to recognise night and day after about 2 months so you've got a quite a few more weeks of the sleepless nights x
She’s a week old... you can’t do “more awake time” during the day. She’ll sleep when she wants to sleep. My daughter is nearly 6 weeks old and still sleeps a lot in the day. Keep her awake and she’ll just be over tired and scream 🤷🏼♀️
Usually the first couple of weeks babies don't know the difference between day and night, the only advice I can give is through the day make sure it's nice and bright and on a night time keep it dark just a little light on for night feeds and changes. Also maybe try swaddling there so used to being inside the belly all cosy that on the outside it's all brand new, think it's called the forth trimester to look up x
