Mom guilt is real. We had a really traumatic delivery and nothing went according to plan, but I could at least look forward to breastfeeding. Well. My LO is struggling with breastfeeding and we’ve been waiting to see a lactation consultant again to work on her latch more. This past weekend is a rough one for me emotionally and I’ve been pumping instead since this weekend just to save all our sanity and I’m barely pumping enough each time to get through the next bottle. I wish breastfeeding came easier or I could pump more. I’m afraid I’ll have to give this up too if I can’t figure something out and I feel like she is gonna be missing out on things she needs :/
We try to latch a few times a day still but it just gets too painful to do for extended periods of time because she won’t latch deep and ends up mashing my nipple the whole time, which effects her ability to pull milk out since everything’s all pinched off.
@ambrbratz, aww I can imagine how stressful that is. I know you’re waiting to see your LC but look on YouTube in the meantime. There’s loads of different “tutorial” type videos on different holds. I always got on best with the rugby hold for a deeper latch. Stay really well hydrated and try not to stress, you’re doing your best that’s all you can ask of yourself a
Keep putting baby on the breast, even if you then give a bottle. It’ll help to keep your supply going and regulate how much you need to produce.
