Anyone’s child have an umbilical hernia? Took my daughter to her one year well check today and they confirmed she has one. They are putting me in touch with a surgeon but wanted to hear from ladies here. If your child had one did they need surgery? Did it go away on its own? Did you leave it?

My son has one, He just turned 2, His doctor hasn't mentioned surgery yet. He said we would wait and see if it gets any bigger and go from there.

My nephew has one and is getting it repaired. He’s 2 months. But his is quite large and is pushing on his stomach and he’s not gaining weight like he could

Thank you. Hers is pretty small you hardly notice it at all. I’m hoping it just fixes itself or it doesn’t effect her and they don’t have to repair it.
How scary for your nephew so young! I’ll be praying for his surgery.

My friends little girl has one but they won’t do surgery till she’s two. Surgery will only be an option if it doesn’t correct itself. It’s going down little by little though.

My son was born with one. It stuck out pretty good for awhile. As his abs got stronger, they helped to pull it in. He will always have an outie, but he does not need surgery.
