When I went to bed last night (11/9) I had been having some good contractions, but they died out while I slept. I woke up this morning and started having fairly decent contractions right off. I took black and blue cohosh per my Midwife’s instruction. Tried some pumping for nipple stimulation and when Hubby got home we had sex. Then went walking for about a mile. When we got home that’s when active labor hit at about 3:30pm. Had 5min apart 1:30min contractions for an hour, then they went to 2-3min apart 1:30min long. At that point we got in the car to drive 1:30hrs to the birth center. The car ride sucked, by the time we got there at 6:30pm my contractions were long 5-6min and 2min apart. When my midwife checked me I was between a 7-8. We did a round of spinning babies, then I got in the birth tub to labor. Spent about 1:30hrs in the tub and got out to go to the bathroom and add hot water. While I was on the toilet my water broke (it was a loud pop) and water gushed. Contractions got insanely worse and all the sudden I had pressure to push. They finally got me off the toilet so I didn’t birth him into the toilet and I got back in the tub. He was born about 10min later! I had him on my knees with my arms resting on the side of the tub! Midwife and hubby pushed him as he came out towards my stomach and I scooped him up. Had a scary moment of him not breathing but right when we were going to intervene he took a big breath and cried! It took quite a while to birth the placenta but when I did it was huge and very healthy! J was there for the birth and cut the cord ❤️ She did awesome and didn’t freak out at all. After the placenta came out she was a little worried about all the blood but we assured her it was okay. I did wind up losing quite a bit of blood because my uterus wasn’t tightening like it should so I had to get a pitocin shot. Other than that we are both great!

Nathaniel Dale was born 9:02pm weighing 8lbs 7oz and 21 1/2in long! I had no tearing and we are both doing great! I am so relieved to finally have him here after the longest wait of my life it seemed! Our miracle baby after 3.8yrs TTC because of PCOS!
