How do I get my 3 year old to listen to me the first time?How do I get him to stop being so hyper .....I have a 6 month old baby to look after as well and I hate having to tell everyday...🤦🏾♀️😔

Never said I wanted him to act grown there are toddlers that no how to listen at the age of 3 all I ask is that my 3 year old listens to me so I dont have to sound like a broken record
My son is having a hart time with this too. He’s not at the age where he would do things the first time. I usually give a count of three. There’s consequences if he doesn’t listen. We’ve always handled it this way. Some day he’ll listen the first time. They’re still really young, even though it doesn’t feel like it with a baby. With him being hyper I’d have him let out some steam outside.

My 3 year old is very hyper too. You just have to do your best & have lots of patience 💕

@athenia823 it's a she, but I just try to redirect her if she's being pushy with her brother or running in circles around him lol I bring her attention to something else, coloring books, blocks etc.

Is this sarcasm? You couldn't possibly think that a three year old will be less hyper and listen EVERY TIME ON THE FIRST TRY! At that age they are still exploring and figuring things out. Sounds like you should have planned your pregnancies to be further apart. Maybe when your son has moved out. Telling kids what to do is a never-ending cycle.

Patience. Repetition. And most importantly, remembering that he’s still a toddler; still learning; still exploring his limits. You can’t expect him to have grown tendencies already. He will get there with time.
