No, not heavy thick jackets or coats are allowed while in the car seat. Either have baby in a light jacket or put a blanket over them.

Heavy coats aren't good for carseats since you have to loosen the straps a ton for it. On impact a kid could fly right out of the seat. Fleece sweaters and blankets are the way to go.

He wears a fleece zip up and blanket and I bring the winter jacket incase something happens and we need it

This is a good idea. I think I'll start bringing his winter coat just incase. I had an incident the other day where my key wouldn't unlock my car doors at all and i kept thinking...what if my son was with me? He would freeze

yeah I have always done that and I keep blankets in the car and extra hat and gloves for little man.

No. Even sweaters are taken off before being buckled in! I always keep blankets in the car in the wonder and for the baby we will have extra
