@bhtslove, I was 13 weeks when I found out and the babys heart stopped at 8 weeks so it was weeks for me as well so I couldn’t wait 2-3 more weeks. So I had the d&c.

@michellemybell09 Yeah. The baby was not viable before I went in, so it had probably been weeks. And then now I've waited 2 more weeks, I've been bleeding for two weeks. But everything is still in the uterus and hasn't passed, so I don't feel like waiting even longer per say. How was your D & C experience?

I get that. Sounds like my experience. It wasn’t terrible and it was quick, I did have some cramping after but nothing terrible, I did bleed for 4 weeks though but I also was passing some tissue still which they said was completely normal because sometimes they don’t get it all in the fear of scarring the uterus, but I got pregnant 6 months after with my second and had no issues.

@bhtslove My midwife prescribed me pain medicine and I took it religiously so the pain didn't get too bad. She strongly recommended the d & c over the pills but respected my choice. You want to take it before the pain starts because the cramping is severe. My concern is that if you don't have help with your little ones, it will be super hard. There will be a period of time you have to sit on the commode and it is like a faucet was turned on and the tissue and fetal sac may pass and you can't care for anyone else. It was really hard on me. As far as the d & c, I went in around 7 am, they placed an IV, I was out and when I was up there was almost no bleeding and minimal cramping. About 3 hours in and out with recovery time. Maybe a 2/10 soreness that Advil took care of.

Again, I am so sorry. It is absolutely awful. I have had 3 mc and 3 d&c and we are done ttc. Our first was conceived the 1st time we tried and was a beautiful pregnancy and birth...I've been there and it is an awful feeling.

I feel like your story just made me want to do the D & C instead. 😬 I just want to get it done and over with, and not wonder if something go left behind, or all those unknowns. And yeah. My husband only has weekends off so I'd have to do it this weekend, but my daughter is super attached to me, so she'd want to be in the bathroom with me. Which was my concern with a D & C at first, because I'm nursing her, so I wanted to make sure it was going to be safe in regards to that, and the having to be away from her part. However I feel that might just be the better option because she is attached to my boob. So if I have all that going on with the pills it'll be hard to care for her as well. At least the D & C will be quicker and I can just recover the rest of the day. Thanks for sharing!

Aw, thanks. I appreciate it. I was thinking of your little one breastfeeding while you're going through that at home with the pills. I was trying to not be too graphic. If the baby hasn't passed naturally by now with you bleeding already, my suspicion would be that it is so embedded in your lining it may not pass easily.

I really don't want to influence you, but if having some sort of closure at home isn't important for you, the d &c is the easiest way when you have little ones to keep up with. They will probably just use dilitation and suction actually, they don't really have to use tools that much.
