Alright moms, I need to know what you would do. So, a couple weeks ago, Skye was invited to a birthday party for a kid she goes to school with. She’s not exactly friends with this boy but she did say she wanted to go so I figured why not. Well then the weather here got real crappy so they rescheduled trick or treating to tomorrow night which also happens to be this kids party. No one has messaged saying it’s cancelled so I assume the party is still happening. Skye wants to go but it’s during the hours of trick or treating so that means me and her would miss trick or treating for this party and that means I’m missing Marleys first trick or treat. Which really makes me sad because I’ve never missed any of Skye or Gianna’s. I feel like we should send a card with a gift card to school Monday but she’s saying she’s fine with missing Halloween for this party. But that’s because it’s Chuck E. Cheese so she simply wants to go for that. This kid was never a mention until his invite which their rules are you can’t single kids out so all kids have to get an invite if you’re sending any. So I kinda feel like it was all forced, like it wouldn’t matter really if she went or not. But part of me feels bad if I had her miss it and she really did wanna actually go. But I don’t wanna miss the babies first trick or treating either 😩 WHAT DO I DO?!

Is it possible to split the time? Go to the party for an hour then go trick or treating?

@coffeebean, can you reach out to the mom to double check that it’s still going on? I’m sure a lot of families are in a similar situation. Halloween is a family event. If you have a tradition, I would stick with it.

she’s gonna go trick or treating and I told her we would make plans with him to go to Chuck E. Cheese a different day and she was fine with that lol

yay!

Maybe do an hour at the party and then trick or treating?
🌸GoodVibeTribe🌸··
I wanted to do that but the drive makes it not worth it cause they’re on two different sides of town basically so I’d spend more time driving around then doing anything.

oh I see, do y'all have a set place to go trick or treating? Maybe try neighborhoods that are in that area? But if not the card sounds good, better than just not showing up but this definitely sounds like a tough pickle. Lol

@mother.of.3, ugh that’s what I’m saying lol. Plus I’m worried for that little boy that too many people will do that and he will end up with no one showing up and that’s not cool. So I’m really stuck here lol. And yes, we go to his grams every year with the whole family and have dinner, trick or treat, & then all hang out together for a while.

Maybe tell her you’ll take her to Chuck E. Cheese a different day if she just wants to go for that and not the actual party?

That’s what I told her this morning and she was perfectly happy with that lol. Told her we would send something in for Kaleb Monday.

Is definitely have her miss and send a gift since she’s not really a close friend. She will be happy with all her candy lol

Yup that’s how I feel lol. I can’t miss my babies first time trick or treating either. I never missed any of my kids so I can’t let myself do it now.

I would just send a gift for the kid and take her trick or treating.

That’s what we have decided. She was okay with taking him something and then making a day they can go to Chuck E. Cheese together to make up for it lol
