So I went to my doctors to confirm my pregnancy as I know I am pregnant but just so I can get my booking date etc and she put her hand over her mouth and said “oh no oh no oh no” and I was telling her I was a little disappointed as I had so much planned for next year but I’m coming around to it and she’s said “ awk I wouldn’t worry it’s still early days yet you never know what could happen” and smiled I’m super upset over it does anyone else take she want me to lose the baby from that?

I wouldn't say she wants u to lose the baby. Dont forget some midwives can be very blunt. She's probably had so many people in doing what you've done and unfortunately lost there babys. She wouldn't mean it personally. She probably found the humor in the fact that u are only 5 weeks pregnant and I dont think they can get a date from that early. Wouldn't take it personally

It was the doctor she said I’m due at the end of June

I wouldn't say she wants you to loose the baby. She's probably just saying that anything could happen still. I completely understand the not feeling ready though, I'm 11 weeks and still struggling to come to terms with this pregnancy. She more than likely just saying to be prepared for all eventualities x

Personally if a doctor said that to me I’d feel the same an be pissed that she had said that to me.

It’s the wording that’s sounds completely wrong to me. I’m not saying she wants you to lose the baby, it just sounds unprofessional for a doctor to say that to someone who’s just found out their pregnant and is in shock (ain’t we all when we find out) and then the doctor replies with that response over being pregnant an potential plans for next year.

I’m guessing she didn’t realise just how that could come across when she said it, true you never know what can happen with anything in life but really she could of worded that a whole lot better then she did xx

I wouldn't take it the wrong way. She probably felt bad for you if your telling her the plans you had for the future.

I am surprised theyve even allowed you to book an appointment to confirm a pregnancy. My gp wont even see you (unless your x amount of weeks but getting faint lines) if you've had a positive thats gotten darker over x amount of days they refer straight to midwife
