So I know I’m late & she should have been off the bottle, but she’s been a struggle. Wish us luck because as of today, she will not get another bottle. She’s good when awake, it’s when she’s taking a nap or going to bed that she wants one in order to fall asleep but it’s time to stop, it’s bothering me that she’s still on it & makes me feel like a bad mom because my other two were done with theirs by 10 months completely. So I feel like I’ve failed 😔 so far for her nap, she did her little fake cry for about five minutes & she’s been quiet so I’m thinking she’s good so HOPEFULLY bedtime goes as easy & this doesn’t have to be torture for us both ! 🤞🏼I accept the judgement that she’s still on it but I’d ask that you just keep a negative comment to yourself if you feel the need to have one please🖤
Ohhh goodness mama, no worries at all. My son was on his only at bed tell right when he turned 14 months & he stopped easily. So far it seems like your doing a great job & she’s doing okay too. Hang in there, you got this!! 🤞💕
My daughter drank water from a bottle till she was 3 years 9 months lol....it was her think no soother, no fav blanket or toy, or anything just that bottle..she just needed to have it in bed with her. ...oh wells...
That’s what she does now.. she lays with it & rubs this teddy bear because he has dread locks basically so she likes to twist them & that’s her calming tool. She’s never used a soother either. It’s tough 😕
@coffeebean it really is. I took it away at home sooner because she was more comfortable there but my mom let her continue to use it at sleepovers. I just told her the bottle fairy came and took her bottles to all the new babies who needed them and it seemed to help. ;)
@symantha_chandler, aww that’s a good idea! Smart thinking! It sucks when you work hard on something but they go stay with relatives & it gets all messed back up. That’s what happens with my kids sleep schedules when they go stay with their grandparents because they spoil them.
My daughter didn’t get off of the bottle till 14 months. You’re doing great. Don’t feel guilty for giving in if you do.
Lol right I’ve been breastfeeding for 4 yrs I’m over it 😭
GOOD FOR YOU! I wish I could have breastfed!! That was always my dream & it never worked out for me so feel proud 🙌🏼

Maybe its outdated info now, but our pediatrician said have them off by 18mo. You’re good! 😉
I know people who have 3 year olds with bottles so you’re doing fine. And at least to use trying to get her off I know people who just leave them on the bottle because it’s easier and letting them sleep with bottles of juice. For my girls I used a cup that had a bottle like nipple then it was a stage two one then stage three and they transition easier.
My brother in law was put to bed with strawberry milk every night & his teeth were so messed up because of it so it’s always been a thing of mine to try not to do that. & that drives me crazy.. sure it’s much easier if I don’t ever force her off but the longer It goes the worse it is for everyone. So I’d rather suck up the little battle I have & get it over with now so I can feel better lol
@coffeebean, my nephew was put to sleep with yoo-hoo. He had to have all his teeth capped
@kesh-kesh, that’s one of my biggest fears. I don’t wanna see my baby be put under for teeth work or even just having a bunch of issues over something that was preventable.
That’s awesome that you are getting her off now!! Good job mama! My son has had maybe 3 bottles his whole life. I got lucky not having to get him off. But the struggle will be getting off the boob😬😬
Oh lord I’m sure that’s an even bigger struggle! Good luck to you as well mama!
I think you're doing great! Stick to the plan and hopefully all will go well. Good luck 😊
You're talking about the baby right? Shes only 13 months...you're good! You've done nothing wrong. Dont stress it. You're taking the steps you need to and she'll be off the bottle before you know it! ❤
Yess the baby, id die if my older two still needed one honestly lol. But thank you🖤 makes me feel a little better cause I really just feel like shit. I worry so bad about her teeth & everything so I know I needed to try but every time we would attempt it, she would bloody murder scream for hours. You could try to calm her down however you wanted but she was inconsolable which was breaking my heart so I’d give in & after trying a few nights in a row I’d just completely quit. But I’m thinking it just wasn’t the right time because this time was soooo much simpler. She never even cried she just did her funny extremely fake cry for like five minutes & I haven’t heard a peep so I think she might be ready for the change now.
@coffeebean all babies are different. Shes still very young so I wouldn't panic quite yet. But it sounds like it might be a good time for her to give them up 🤞. Stick with it
So idk if I’m an asshole for thinking this but a girl I used to go to school with is having her 3rd kid and she’s planning a baby shower and she had one with her other two. I feel like a baby shower is something you do with ur first pregnancy. I live far from my family so I didn’t have one but i did have a baby registry and I’m not even doing that with this pregnancy. Idk I just feel like 3 baby showers is a lot! Especially when she gets things handed to her. Idk maybe I’m an ass for thinking that

I’m all in my feelings today because today my sweet angel would have been 2, it hurts so much
