RANT because FB is overloaded with the tampon symbol talk - no comments on my beliefs please - share your own if you’d like. Much love

I don’t care if you take away the women symbol for tampons.

I don’t use tampons.

When will those be free for young girls? What about free birth control too?

THAT is what I care about.

The tax on women’s products.

The accessibility that should be as free as it is natural and unforgiving.

I never noticed the symbol before and when I used to buy them I didn’t choose based on appearance or it’s symbols just for me but for their quality.

So again when the bigger issues regarding our reproductive system includes fighting for our basic right to choose what we do with them, your choose to fight for a symbol?

I pick my fights.

The ones that truly matter.

This isn’t one of them.

You can have it because if it truly offends someone else and I never even noticed or cared about it anyway, then why does it matter to me? Take it off.

I still feel they are used, made and for sale FOR ME.

Also biologically non-binary people still have periods and using gender specific makes them feel like they are conforming to a society that only believes in two genders and nothing else. A society that doesn’t even acknowledge them because “that’s a mental issue.”

So set them in a category that’s taboo to touch.

Disposable.

We make others invisible because we don’t want to change.

Sounds pretty pathetic to me.

As humans, without change we die.

If you’re not one of the people that cares about others and their feelings, I’m not sure you’re going to do so well in society.

Or long term find true happiness.

Accepting your flaws, working on what makes you hard to be around, self development.

That’s on you.

Mental growth puts you in your reality.

This isn’t to say you must be the rug under their feet, this is to say that sometimes your feelings are only in service of one rather than society as a whole.

If you can’t set your own convictions aside to accept another’s quality of life as valuable.

You are of no value here, yourself.

In a world where gender is non specific, it doesn’t take from women’s fight for equality, it empowers all minorities to fight together for equality making a society easier in accepting change.

Change is how we move forward.

Even if it’s not positive change. As displayed heavily now. Change can be bad or good but no matter what gets us to where we need to be.

Fighting against change, gets you nowhere and with less rights than before.

What you resist, persists and what you accept, flows.

I will not fight for a symbol.

I will fight for everyone’s rights to feel included especially the minority.

Because that is the only way we unite as a society.

The common enemy isn’t each other, it’s the powers that we have no control over.
