Some one please help me with this I’m literally on edge freaking out
My daughter has been sick on and off 2 weeks. Random days of puking and spiking fevers high as 103. Saying she’s dizzy, she can’t walk she’ll fall over, her head hurts. Then random days of nothing, no fever, no puking, etc.
When this all started she started with a yeast infection as well. Nystatin took care of that.
Around 7 days ago she was put on an antibiotic for “a nasty looking throat” and fever (which also had the puking ) and today after a few days of nothing and 7 days on the amoxicillin she has puked all day and spiked fever of 103.
I took her to the hospital and in the waiting room tried to leave and go to another hospital because the other patients were acting insane. The nurse administrator came out and told me not to go, it’s not normal to get a fever 7 days into an antibiotic. She needs to be seen ASAP etc. so I stayed. 6 hours later all the dr did was a flu swab, literally said “flu came back negative. I don’t know what it is but it’s obviously something. Take her to the doctor Monday”
I’m so god damn pissed and scared . We just got home and she is sound asleep. After complaining of being so hungry and offering food and she takes a bite and says no mommy I can’t eat it.
I’m debating to wake her up and disturb her getting rest to take her to the hospital in the town over. Or waiting a few hours , letting us both get some rest and drive her over there in the morning first thing.
Has anyone ever seen anything like this?? My mom says out of her 4 kids none of us had ever been sick on n off like this and spiking the fevers randomly and then especially not another fever a week into antibiotics.

Last year there was this bug that was going around. My nieces and my daughter got it. She would vomit one day then be fine for 2/3 days then it would start up again. It went on for 10 days. It was awful and the weirdest illness we’ve ever seen. All 3 of my nieces and my daughter had the same reaction. If she’s hydrated, fever under 103 and she’s peaceful I’d let her sleep but I’d definitely seek another opinion when she wakes.

it’s an inner ear infection! I’m so stupid and didn’t put 2 and 2 together that she has been saying “WHAT???” After we say anything. I just didn’t think my 4 year old would be having hearing loss. But she failed her hearing test miserably and doctor (a new one cause I was tired of the bs) said even before putting her on that test she knew it was an inner ear infection. That explains all her symptoms. I just feel so guilty I didn’t catch hthe hearing loss. I asked if there will be permanent damage as in Loss or hearing she said there shouldn’t be but we have a follow up in 2 weeks. If she fails her hearing test again we will have to see specialist and if she is still sick in any way we will be sent for more in depth testing

Sounds similar to what we just went through. My son didn’t spike a high fever but had diarrhea & puked for 2 days straight was fine for another 2 days then started puking and feeling sick again for 2 days. I also did when I caught whatever our son had but I had dizziness( I couldn’t focus) fever and nausea but no puking. My S.O was sick at the same time as we were and today he’s sick again😩 Idk what my son felt because he can’t explain to me he that he’s dizzy but he was complaining of a stomach ache. I took him to his pediatrician and he said that it’s a virus that mimics the stomach flu and can last up to 10-14 days off and on. It started with a N something virus. I had never heard of it before till now hope your little one starts feeling better 🙏🏻

Antibiotic-resistant ear infection?

She had an ear infection about 8 weeks ago but they double checked that and said it cleared up

You were right! Took her to a different doctor who actually knew wtf they were doing. She diagnosed her with inner ear infection in less than 5 seconds after I told her what’s been going on and looking at her. She did a hearing test and my poor baby failed it horrribly. She is on 6 meds now including a stronger antibiotic. We will go back in 2 weeks to see if her hearing loss is permanent and we will have to see a specialist or if it will go away when they fluid behind her ears go away 🤞🏻

aww I hate to be right bc ear infections suck! I had one myself a few months ago that took forever to go away.. but fortunately she is getting taken care of now so you don’t have to worry what it might be! Hope she feels better soon
