I was told yesterday by the nurse filling out my maternity leave papers that I can't request to leave 2 weeks early and have to work up until my due date.. I feel like that's a little unfair. I am already so uncomfortable & was told by my high risk doctor that I'm measuring two weeks ahead. Just wondering for other working moms is this general procedure? Did you have to work until the day you went into labor?

I left a whole month early. The nurse tried to tell me I couldn't, but my ob approved my request.

I never heard that. That’s your call, it’s not up to them

No, nurse is wrong. Talk to the doctor. Tell your worries, the OB will approve it especially if high risk.

That’s crazy. I left maybe a month or two before I had my baby. I was so uncomfortable. All I had to do was tell my dr I’m ready to stop working. She wrote me a letter for my job that I needed to be taken out and that was that.

Definitely talk to someone I don't think that sounds right. I was given up to 12w and could start taken it whenever I wanted. Most people get 6w at least though.

Depends on the doctors. The practice I went to wouldn't write a note to remove you from work unless there was a medical issue or something preventing you from doing your job. As an administrative assistant I was expected to work until I delivered. My boss took me out a week before my due date bc I worked over an hour away from the hospital I was delivering at.
If you're not feeling well and up to working talk to your doctor. Ultimately they make the call not a nurse 🤷🏼♀️
