No you have to wait until 6 months. When they show all the signs of being ready for food, watching you eat, being able to fit a spoon in his mouth and swallow instead of spit it back, sit up properly without falling, etc
I believe it’s 6 months. That’s around when all my babies started. Usually at their check up I’m told I can start the foods. My youngest started a little later but only because she had stomach issues that took us a while to straighten out so the doctor wanted to make sure her belly was doing okay with the formula we had finally switched her to before adding food and complicating it. So she started a little later than 6 months.
Yeah it's recommended that at 6mths to start but my first daughter cut herself off of formula at 4mths. So I started giving her oatmeal mixed with formula. Had a huge fight with my mom about it at the time but now she's a healthy toddler
It's recommended that you wait until babies are 6 months old before introducing baby food.
I know it seems like a long time to wait, but baby's need time to develop the coordination to move solid food from the front of their mouth to the back for swallowing and they also need to outgrow using their tongues to push food out of their mouth. Not to mention all of the gut issues that could develop.
Also if you start baby food too early you run the risk of having the baby suck the food into it's airway. And it also increases the baby's risk for childhood obesity
Besides babies have their WHOLE life times to eat food... six months really isn't that long of a wait, when you put it in prospective.
