Mum's need advice I'm wanting to get my little boy the 4m+ pouches just to try him with them my question is when do I give him them and how much?
@kathleenc he seemed to take it fine spat it out at first then tried again and he took it sorry only just replying I'm not getting told when people comment xx
Like a few other said weaning isn’t recommended until 6months or over, and showing all signs of readiness. When you do start though start with vegetables rather than fruits. Fruit is obviously sweeter and has more sugar, and it may make it more difficult to then get them to eat vegetables because they don’t taste as nice to a baby.
The recommended is 6 months because early weaning can cause irritable bowl syndrome and other things. Its because there digestive system isn't ready for food yet..
We didn't do pouches, we did BLW at 6 months. But from my experience of weaning..
Make sure he's sitting unaided (not propped up by cushions or falling to the side in his highchair) he needs to have really good head control:)
I'd give it to him around an hour after his feed, as long as he isn't sleepy.
He honestly doesn't need much, a few spoonfuls will do, it's just for tasting at this age. My little one wasn't having three meals a day until just after his first birthday.
A really good saying to remember is - food before one is just for fun!
They really do not need it before they turn one, so don't stress out if he's not interested or doesn't take much x
I was told by my health visitor to make sure sure he’s not tired when feeding him. Also make sure he’s not starving either so give him a bottle about 1 hour before so he’s in a good mood. Make sure he can sit up unaided too. I started first in the morning offering it as a little breakfast after his bottle then as time went on added a lunch then a dinner by about 8 months old. If he spits it back out I was told he’s not ready for food yet. xx
@robynjadehamnett, yeah I’d say so. My wee boy wasn’t ready till just over 5 and half months xx
@kathleenc I'll try him no harm in trying is there xx
@robynjadehamnett, yeah there is harm in trying too early x
I’ve been giving my son half a pouch/jar
At about 12 so he would have had 2 bottles by then
I normally do it about an hour after a bottle for anything as my son suffers from reflux quite bad so it helps settle him abit
Make sure your little one is sat up enough and if it looks like he is ready for food if he don’t look ready then don’t try
He's been looking at my food and he's played with my friends packet of crisps too
@robynjadehamnett, my daughter and son was like that also
I started weaning my son the day before he turned 5 months and with my daughter she was 5 and half months
If you have a bouncer can it sit up so your sons in a up right position? But if you think he’s ready then have a go but careful as it might go through him if you try fruits

So we decided on a rabbit. A friend breeds them and is actually giving him to us for free! He's about 11 weeks old. Going to pick him up next month 🤗
*Not sure what my 12 year old is going to name him yet. Stay tuned.

I'm soo sad. I've been with my husband 6 years next month. Him and SS get cold sores I thought I would never get them. Blahhh my lip is soo swollen it hurts and its soo damm itchy. I hate it I hate it. My husband just got one 3 weeks ago I didn't kiss him or share cups. :(
Honest opinion am I overreacting....so my mother in law and sister in law didn't call my son on his birthday on Wednesday. Yet they knew it was his 2nd birthday. I was so upset and hurt because we've lived with them so I considered them like my actual family. My mom threw a surprise party for my son that night it was literally only my sister, brother, mom and aunt and one of my friends and of course us. Well my mom decided to go fb live with us singing happy birthday. My mother in law comments t...
