Idk about ginger, but if you sit in the bathroom with hot water running it will help a little. You'll be in there for a while though.

Ginger ale with not do anything. It’s sugar. You can boil some ginger in water and cool it and try that.

I don't believe so. Water helps break up mucus. Sugary drinks make it worse.
