How do you mamas deal when your toddler is being an absolute terror? I don’t believe in spanking but when he is tormenting the dog over and over again no matter how much we say no and take him away from her I don’t know what to do to get him to understand it is not okay and he needs to stop. He isn’t speaking yet so even though we explain they it isn’t okay and he is being mean, it doesn’t really do anything. He seriously has been so bad the past few weeks. Getting, kicking, spitting and throwing huge epic tantrums. I know the ‘terrible twos’ are obviously a thing but there are days I am getting pushed beyond my limits. 😩😭

Not everything works for every child, but with my son the things that work are timeouts and I keep putting him back on until he finally listens to me, or taking away something that he loves for a few hours, I know it sounds harsh but it works for us.

It sounds like he is acting out because of the new baby my son is the exact same way he craves attention so he seems to find it in anyway he can, I started spending more one on one time with him and his attitude has changed a bit for me.....hope that you can find what works for your son and you.

I agree with the above. Time out's were a life saver when my son was adjusting to the new dynamics of our family once the baby came along. I did definitely get frustrated enough that I smacked him or spanked him, but all that did was make me feel like the worlds shittiest mom. It didn't solve the problem. I would really look into a couple of parenting books and see if it can help steer you in a direction that will work for you. I personally loved "Toddler Calm" and anything that is written by Janet Lansbury.
