Has anyone used this? We’ve been buying the pills directly from our vet but was thinking about trying this.
@evildrporkchop. Do you have your yard treated by pest control? If not i really recommend that fleas were horrid in Tennessee and that really kept them down then seresto flea collars with garlic pills there naturual and fleas dislike the garlic taste.
I agree with scream. My mil and fil bought one of the chew tablets from the vets office and gave it to their pug, less than two days later he took a seizure and stayed in it for 15 mins or more, we’re almost a year out with the poor babe and he never did fully return to normal. He’s got a lot of health problems from it now.
I wouldn't. Seems like an off brand Bravecto! I would rather pay the $50 per pill than chance it. 😊
@ltee Nor do I. They're so awful. We had them once for months and it took finally getting the Bravecto to get rid of them for good. We haven't seen one since. Highly recommend it!
@madhatter, oh no! I wouldn’t have made it months! I was practically crawling up the walls and neurotic after 2 days when it happened to us like 10 years ago. Super paranoid ever since
@ltee We had to wait out the frontline and advantix before we did the pills and it was so awful. We didn't want to overload them. They had to sleep in their crates and ughhhh. It sucked so bad.
I refuse to use anything like this. We used advantage on my cats and dog and it killed my two cats.
@evildrporkchop., Dead serious. A couple hours after applying it my cats started acting crazy, shooting across the floors, running into walls ect. I threw them in the bath to wash it off but it didn't help. One of them started having seizures and kept clicking his mouth biting his tongue, bleeding, and foaming out the mouth. No vets were open and there's no 24 hour vets around here. I googled and tried my best but nothing helped. 😭 never again.
@scream.queen, holy shit! What do you use now? I’ve been using the Adams spray for our little puppies but I got it in my eye yesterday and vowed to find something better. Our big dogs won’t stay out the the ponds so they wash off the topical and flea collars disappear.
@evildrporkchop., Honestly, I don't use any flea medication now. After that it scared the shit out of me. We don't really have fleas around here. Our pitbull stays outside and my chihuahua is the only one in and out and he gets bathed weekly in dawn dish soap. I would avoid the liquid medication though!
I haven’t tried this particular one but advantage did not work for us years ago. Used to be able to use frontline topical until a place we lived in had a lot of frontline resistant fleas in the neighborhood. Been using pills since.
The last few times we bought the topical frontline it didn’t work for us either!
@evildrporkchop., I’d personally stick to the pills/chews. comfortis is strictly for fleas and was a little cheaper than bravecto. It worked for us but I did go ahead and make the switch to bravecto chews because it helps with ticks also. My vet said bravecto is also like a flea birth control so I was sold.
I asked our vets office about getting a script for Chewy.com because they’re quite a bit cheaper. They won’t and gave the reasoning of they guarantee their product and you don’t know where it’s coming from/how it was stored, etc. when you get it on the internet. I get it but, 🙄.
Haha that’s a funny way of saying “we want to be the ones making money off of you”
Id use trifexus . its really nice. You can also get really good flea collars for like 40 bucks at pet smart
Do NOT use this our dogs lost fur where it was put on.
