I know breastfeeding helps prevent the baby’s from really getting sick(correct me if I’m wrong though please) but I think my daughter is getting sick. I’ve never had a baby get sick this little before...I’m not sure what to do..

It doesn't 100% prevent sickness. Your milk will change if she gets sick to help he get what she needs though.

There are antibodies in breast milk that can shorten the length of the illness and allow her to recover more quickly. Also breast milk provides nutrition and essential fluids that your baby girl needs to stay hydrated

@bubbys.mommy i believe the decongestant little remedies drops are for 2+ but the little remedies saline spray and drops are safe for her age. I'm not sure how good they work though but worth a shot for some comfort for baby girl

Saline spray and a nose frida work great. Also steam up the bathroom and have a seat. The steam will thin out the mucous. If she gets to a point where she is not able to nurse because of congestion or develops a fever, call your pediatrician.

Thank you 😫 I feel awful. Idk if she is sick for sure but it definitely seems like something is brewing.

She probably caught something from your toddler. Do you have him wash his hands before touching the baby? No kissing on the face. Changes clothes after school or park. It’s different with the 2nd baby because you have to really be on top of the exposure of germs from your older child.

He’s not sick though? Or could he still have brought germs home from day care? 😔 he doesn’t really ever touch her so no but I guess we will be washing hands a lot even if he’s not touching her

@bubbys.mommy, yes if he’s going to daycare then yea he’s bringing home germs. She’s way more susceptible to getting sick than he is because she is a newborn with no immunity. When he gets home have him change his clothes and immediately wash his hands. Even if he’s not touching her he’s touching everything in the house then you are touching it then touching the baby. It gets spread around.
