So I’m considering exclusively pumping. I’ve never done that before though. Any tips/advice or whatever you have helps. I have no idea how to even go about doing it...she’s very much a boob baby she was rooting and looking for it not even 2 minutes of being born and has been like that every since.

My son had significant trouble with latching, so I ended up pumping a lot. You’ll need to pump every three hours to match baby’s eating schedule, even through the night. It’s a lot of work, but can be done. Your life will revolve around your pumping schedule, but it’s not forever. I’d be happy to share if you have specific questions or want tips on pumping schedule, keeping up supply, etc.

@bubbys.mommy, at 1 month old, yes probably, or else you risk losing supply if you are exclusively pumping, no breast.
For babies with more typical sleeping patterns, they would be up nursing every 2-3 hours through the night at this age. So it’s pretty important to have consistent pumping to keep stimulating milk production. Otherwise, supply will gradually diminish. Once she’s older, you can start dropping night pumps.

@bubbys.mommy, certainly! I became an exclusive pumper after my son struggled so much with nursing at about the 8 month mark. I work too, so the pump was always part of my life, for better or worse! 😆
