I'm going in to get a vaccine for whooping cough today. My dr said that it's a new thing they do now to give baby some immunity when they're born. Anyone else have this done. I'm a bit nervous

I got it. It's worth it if it protects my baby.

I totally agree. I'm getting it regardless. Was just wondering because I never had to do this before

T-dap won't make you sick. It's also not new, but it is a good thing to get while pregnant. My cousin was extra and told everyone that they couldn't see her newborn unless they all got one.

Is that what it's called? They just told me whooping cough. But if it doesn't make you sick I feel much better about it lol

The t dap vaccine? I got it when I was pregnant with my 6 yr old and my last baby. Why are you nervous?

I don't know what t-dap vaccine is. This is specifically for whooping cough. And if I wasn't pregnant I wouldn't care but I don't want to get sick and not be able to take anything you know? Lol

@mommy1991, that’s the name of the vaccine. It’s not a live virus so you won’t get sick from it but you can have side affects like redness where the shot was given, nausea, etc. but with most vaccines the symptoms generally outweigh the risks of not getting it.
