Question about mat leave and sick leave.
I’m having a c section on dec 6th. My doctors are willing to write me off work so I can go on a sick leave ahead of time. My question is can I use the sick leave and then start my actual 12 month mat leave in January? Or do I have to switch from sick leave to mat leave when the baby is born?

Sick leave is 15 weeks so as long as there’s 15 weeks or less before you want to start Mat leave then yes.

@jesssska, @mimixtmn, this is what I’m hoping to do. Ideally I would like to get two Christmas’s off and would like to return to work Jan 2nd. Which would be a little over 3 weeks more than a year after babe is born.
