Does anyone else get upset/ troubled when your parenting choices aren’t being respected? Or when someone does something with your child without asking if it’s ok first ? I’m wondering if I’m being too sensitive 🤔

I was helping a friend move into a new place and I was going to grab some stuff from outside to bring in and she stayed with her child and my daughter and I come back and she tells me she sat my daughter in her kids potty and that my daughter peed and I was caught off guard because I wanted to have that special bond with my daughter going in a potty for the first time, she kinda meddled and didn’t ask if that was ok and it’s not like we are super close like that for her to feel comfy doing that. I didn’t really know what to think 🤔

Yes your choices should be respected all the time. Over time I think we find that some things are not worth fighting about bc they’re not that big of a deal.
Do you know why your friend sat her on the potty? Did your daughter see her kid go and ask? Maybe your friend thought she was potty trained? I’d just talk to her. But you can’t help your feelings, they are what they are and that’s ok. I’d try to find out what her thinking was.

Not at all.
And personally I would be pissed. My circle is very small for one. Everyone knows we run a tight ship -as in we call all the shots.
I’ve learned very early on to tell people straight up how I feel. You shouldn’t feel bad for that.
The fact she put her on the potty isn’t cool with me. I’m not saying it’s wrong but in our house the bathroom is private. We leave no room for BS. Plus it was her first time actually peeing?! Uh ya I’d be annoyed as hell.

Yeah it honestly wasn’t cool she was well aware that I had told my MIL not to try putting my daughter in the potty at her house because I wanted to have that special bond with my daughter. I honestly cut back my interactions with her if I can’t be respected as a mother like I always respect other mothers then I don’t think it’s a close friendship I would want to pursue. I have mom friends who do respect me and ask me if things are ok before doing them.😅 if I ever do see her again I’ll for sure let her know it wasn’t ok.
