I packed so much crap that I thought I’d use. 😂 biggest things I DID use were; a short sleeved robe to wear over the hospital gown after birth (probably the best thing I brought because I wasn’t feeling up to changing into anything and I was worried about bleeding on my own nightgown), toiletries, your own pillow and blankets (my husband went back to our house to get these after the nurses recommended it), a video camera (we had it just recording the audio), a change of clothes for going home, and chargers for your phone. :)
Depends on your birth experience. Both times I planned a vaginal and ended up with emergency c-sections.
So my car had 2 bags. One for a vaginal and one for a c section. My hubby appreciated not having to go home and try and pack things for me to wear while in hospital and trying to find gear for me.
vaginal one had my pads, change of clothes, birthing supplies, baby outfit, blanket, 5 diapers and some wipes.
C section, had pjs, hospital clothes (stretchy maternity gear), larger shoes to help with the crazy amount of swelling, 5 pjs for baby, a pack of diapers, wipes, showering supplies, pjs for hubby and a change of clothes for him, chargers, extra media options, nursing pads, a pack of underwear a size or 2 larger then you normally wear. I was in the hospital for 3 days the first time. And 6 days the second time.

Check out the Hospital Bag application under Mom Radar. It’s a pretty good guide
