Well, started a part time night shift job two days ago. Payday is next Wednesday and I'm not going back after that. This Tim Hortons is an absolute nightmare. They only have one worker on night shift, this includes 5:30 breakfast rush. You're expected to run the breakfast station, coffee station, and drive through all at once without leaving a car at the pay window for more than five minutes or you'll be written up. Half the machines are broken and have to be fixed two or three times a shift. Second shift has left their duties undone both days, the store manager wont answer her phone after 11pm so if there's an emergency it's on you. I'm not allowed 15 minute breaks and I don't get a lunch break. They require that you pay for anything that isn't water, and it has to be in a cup you bring with you. You'll get written up for using a plastic or paper cup. The baker is always an hour late and no one cares, and the morning shift has been at least half an hour late as well both mornings. My trainer said that that's how it always is. My trainer and manager left me alone on drive through my second day, having not given me time to be familiar with how to find items on the screen, not knowing how to make most of the drinks/sandwiches, during the morning rush. The store manager is supposed to be 5am, she won't show up usually until 6-7am. And she lives 45 minutes away so if you have an emergency you're screwed. They kept me 40 minutes past when I was supposed to clock out and won't pay me for it because I'm part time and ive already been scheduled for 40 hours this week for whatever reason and they're not paying a part timer overtime. They're also not allowing me any time to pump breastmilk because I'm ALONE all night and don't have enough time for a full pumping session. I could leave for an order and not return for an hour, so now my pump and breastmilk have been sitting out for however long. They can't hold on to any new employees no matter the shift, and it's clear to see why. The place is a hell hole and no one cares at all.
