Is it normal for a baby to be upset at Nursery all the time? My little girl has only been going there a week but she's upset each time I walk her in there and upset when I'm picking her up. It's not just me whose seen her crying in there, my bf and MIL have. She seemed to love it during the sit-in sessions but now it's as if she hates it there ??? Do I need to give it time? Is it normal? Or do I pull her out n look elsewhere?
I got given one handover letter on her first day n that was it lol which also has me thinking she's done nothing but ball her eyes out the whole of the day 😣 if she was upset the whole time would they even tell me? Wouldn't sound good to any mum to read "was very upset all day". I did notice that one cry can set them all off. Dropped Madison off one morning, she was happy as Larry till Violet (crying girl I mentioned further up) came over blubbering and then her little chin started shaking with a sad face 😭 I just want her to be happy n she normally is all the time anyway so it's hard to see her upset x
@clarelushx You should get a rough handover on her day so ask if they don't offer it initially. When starting they should have explained how they will be keeping track of her development. Most nurseries use Tapestry but it may be paper form if not. You get notifications of this if set up. Or it might come home monthly or at parents evenings etc. If you have any questions or concerns speak to them. That's what there there for. Or call up, send an email if you want to query anything. It's rare that a child cries non stop from drop off to pick up. Very rare. Starting nursery is a big deal. Sometimes just as hard for parents lol. It just takes time to adjust.
I’d say it’s probably because of her age... when I take my daughter to nursery, it’s always the ones under 2 who are the most upset 🤷🏼♀️
@20162019 I've just started studying at college. 2 full days, 2 half days. She'd have to get used to that type of thing at some stage. Will the same thing happen at a different nursery though? Or am I best of giving her time to get used to it? Xx
@clarelushx, it’s hard to say... My daughter is in a small nursery. She’s been there since she was 2 and I’ve never had a problem, in the baby room there was never anymore than 5-6 other kids so it was never overwhelming for her. I don’t know if you’ve got any smaller nurseries where you are?
@20162019 I'll have a look around. It is really loud in the room she's in so you might have a point. More than likely is overwhelming her xx
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
TWW!!
2dpo and on the tww journey. Anyone on the same dpo or close? Haven't decided if I will test at 12dpo or just wait and see if she shows up!!
Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Science!
My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?
Starting TWW. Anyone else?
I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.
Coming from a Mum & a Nursery practitioner lol She probably just needs time to settle. She's very little but old enough to know your gone. She doesn't understand time or that you'll be back so until she's gotten used to the new faces & bonded more with staff & other children she may be a little unsettled at times. This should settle. Could be a couple or a few weeks. Longer depending on the child. You should get handovers or taptestry. Or something where you can see what she's been upto, because it's rare they're upset all day. Sometimes with babies one cries and sets the others off. Then 5mins later their all happy again 😂
