Is there any mama’s on here with special needs children? My questions are going un-answered with his doctors!
I think that would depend on your insurance. You might want to call then to ask if you need a referral & they can also give you a list of dr’s you can go to. I had to wait 4 months for an appointment.
Thank you so much! I’ll give them a call and see what they say. I just wasn’t sure what to do.
Take him to a developmental pediatrician. They will test him if you have concerns.
Most insurances require a referral for a developmental pediatrician. I had to have one and I don’t know a parent in my area that didn’t need the same referral.
@fairykarmamomma, I did get him tested through the school, and they are saying the same thing but they are saying they don’t do that testing.
@kelikoher, let me ask someone about that because that doesn’t seem right to me.
@fairykarmamomma, okay! They tested him last March. I submitted the paperwork for him to be tested in October, took them till the end of March to test him. I got his test results, he got his IEP and than they have repeatedly told me that they don’t actually test for him being on the spectrum. I am so confused with this whole process.
@mamaof2soon, his pediatrician was the one who referred him to his psychologists, his counselors, and his wrap around services.
@kelikoher, call you insurance and tell them , I never went through me pediatrics I called Albany mybself and did everything without him
I have one with autism, and one with ADHD and dyslexia
