Sitting here thinking about how uneducated I was with my first daughter. I turned her around front facing THE DAY she turned a year old. I cringe so hard thinking about that to this day. My youngest daughter will be rear facing for as long as she can be. Lesson learned!

I turned mine around when she reached a little above the weight limit. And her legs were so long, they'd be up in her face if she was still rear facing

oh ok. Many states are doing minimum of 2 years to keep up to date with safety.

she was 21.5in long when she was born and at her well baby check up 2 months ago. Statistically she is the size of a 2 year old. But I did it based on weight and her legs were getting all cramped up and would throw fits the whole car ride bc she wanted them down off of her chest.

I did that with my first as well, 7 years ago. I’ve learned so much over the years. I still have my 4 year old rear facing now and I have every intention of waiting until he maxes out everything before switching him over. He’s a really tiny guy so this could take awhile longer. 😭 it’s great that you’ve taken the time to learn more about car seat safety since then though!!

My oldest is 3 and she’s so tall that she can’t be rear facing anymore. She’s the size of an average 5 year old according to her pediatrician but if she was smaller she would be rear facing. Kudos to you for extending rear facing, wish I could.
