Wwyd.. adoption help.
Some of you know my story from baby bump some if you don't...my husband and I are starting the process for step parent adoption. The cost is $3500 (not an issue) and we're starting the process in the next month or two. I'm so nervous about this 😬.
I'm debating if I should give my ex husband a heads up that he will be served soon or if I should just let it happen. We haven't gotten along since the divorce and I haven't spoken to him in a year since the last time we went to court. My lawyer said we have a really good chance of getting the adoption whether my ex wants it or not. I just don't know what to do about the process. My head is telling me I should give him a heads up. My heart is cold and broken and doesn't care either way.
What would you do???

I literally am going threw this right now but I payed 300$ I’ve haven’t had to to deal with dads for yrs idk where they live so they’ll be served eventually...I wouldn’t say squat it’s not your issue 🤷🏼♀️ If he were present he would know

I honestly wouldn’t worry about his feelings or potential reaction or how it may affect him. He has brought it on himself
I didn't tell my son's sperm donor. We just did it and he was fine with it no fight
I'm hoping that he won't put up a fight. I'm thinking the only way he would is to spite me.

Well from what I understand they’ll terminate his parental rights. I would just not say anything let the court and lawyer handle it
Yes. It makes it easier if he agrees to terminating his parental rights. He hates getting served so I was just thinking if I warn him it's coming it won't be so bad.

See idk we can move forward and most likely will win our case whether he likes it or not. He hasn't seen my daughter since she was 3 weeks old. He pays A LOT in child support and I'm hoping that if he knows it will come to an end sooner than later it will entice him to sign and leave it be.
I wouldn't say a thing. Because he may act out of spite. And if you give hin warning, he will have time to try to ruin it
I will be going through this process after we get married. I have no clue where he is so don’t know how it will work yet. That being said if I knew where he was I still wouldn’t give him a heads up. Because then he might try to stop you just to spite you.
