My daughters school just sent out an email saying if the days our kids plan on missing to donate $50 to pay for the funding they will loose for our kid missing. Anyone’s else’s school do this???
Most schools do get paid per student per day a certain amount. If the school is tight for funds this could be a way to prevent them from having to cut valuable resources from students and also get parents to make sure their kids arent just missing school to miss it.
Fraudulently though?? No thanks
@bunsinmyoven not something I am okay with. But I do get where they are coming from and what do you mean fraudulently? What they are doing with signing the kids in? My question is you can report them to the state board of ed, but what is going to happen to the school?
I'm no? Sounds like someone in the school is fixing to embezzle money.
You are 100% right!! That’s what it sounds like!!
Missing any days of school. They also said if they have an appt check them in at school so they can mark they are there so they get credit for them being there all day
@jellybeans33, isn’t it!?!? Sounds super sketch and ridiculous
@mamaof2babes, wtf no I wouldn’t even do that truthfully I’d take it to the news id switch schools all that how does one child make you miss 50$ if that was the case schools would lose money and that would be all over the states . That’s so weird and sketchy
@baby_momma2, I guess they get paid 50 a day per student from the state for the school district.
@mamaof2babes, well every state needs to enforce it does every district in your area do that as well
Neither have I. They are trying to say it’s a new policy the district is doing.
School fees
Having an intense debate on Facebook about school fees for public school. I'm in the "stop whining about school fees and stop having kids if you can't afford them" camp and there is the other camp of "free school is a constitutional right! It's bull s*** we have to pay anything at all".

Kids are at school and this momma is gonna relax 🤪
Is it true kids can't get into school with out vaccines?
i miss our group!
Everyone come back, please!!!
Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Shit in one hand wish in the other lol 😆 would be my email response
