I packed my own pillow, breastfeeding pillow, earbuds and stressball to use if wanted during labor, and a small ziplock of jelly ranchers and suckers to suck on until I was allowed food again. Good luck mama!

yw! I know this isnt related to packing your own bag but I agree with the comment below that the hospital will give you alot, and I always like to suggest to take literally whatever you can. I took both the spray bottles they give you after birth for the bathroom, I took the spare diapers and shirts, hats and recieving blankets they put in the room for you, they should also have a pacifier or two if you ask . Not all hospitals will but the last one I went to even gave me a manual medela hand pump.

The hospital will give you diapers, wipes and formula. A lot of it too if you ask.

You're milk won't come in until 1 to 5 days after you have the baby. The only thing the baby needs the first couple days is to be put to the boob whenever they want. Baby isn't born hungry.
If you immediately give a formula bottle right away you are going to sabotage breastfeeding before you get started. If you really want to bf give baby only the breast.
Your baby on the breast will trigger your milk. It takes a couple days but do not give formula or let the nurses give any bottoes.

Also giving a pacifier before baby is good at nursing can cause nipple confusion.

Your milk won't come for 4 to 5 days after delivery! The first few days you will produce colostrum and that is very good and potent for baby! Packed with all the nutrients they need. Putting baby to the breast right away and as often as she shows signs is what will help trigger your milk to come in. If you are truly wanting to breastfeeding then maybe don't offer any formula right away and just put baby to the breast!
